Hi, Yes a 5 speed box can be fitted, my Cargo is a 5 speed, but why are you wanting a 5 speed is it for a higher top speed or more relaxed cruising? if thats the case then a 5 speed box wont raise the gearing,,, its the diff ratio that needs changed to achieve the above, I am not sure which ratio,s are available but most Cargo breakers will tell you, also with regards to the dark frog green paint! its possible it could have came from Stobbarts Haulage has it a Carlisle registration ie HH or AO ? Hope This Helps. Also post up a few pics and we will try and work out you're trucks original usage. Regards Alf

Hi Kenny, alf is right a 5 speedbox will fit but i think you will need to change the prop shaft as the gearbox will be longer, are you wanting better speed or lower revs ? at the end of the day you only have 114bhp so not be winning any land speed record.
It might be worth looking at what you diff ratio is, there should be a plate on the side of the diff and this will tell you what ratio it is like this.
1/3.73 this is a good speed/power ratio. 4.1 is what i think you might have, is good for pulling but not for top speed. 3.42 is good for top speed but not good at pulling and i dont think your engine would get the best out of it.
Hope some of thi might help.

...and of course a 1989 0811 would of been fitted with a 5-speed as standard anyway; so at some point it's been changed back to the older 4-speed!?! Don't think a 4-speed was ever an option when Iveco took charge....

I am not so sure as a friend of mines dad had an 811 on an E plate and that was a 4 speed, i allways thought the 809 where 4 speed, then the 811 and 813 where mainly 5 speed.
I would just like to say it might not be an 811, i mean i have just been striping a replacement cab for my 815 and i have taken the old 1413 door badge out, so who knows it might have had replacement doors at some point.
Well kenny its down to you to let us have ome more info please. A small thought does it have a pto fitted, if its ex BT then did they not use pto to power there equipment only a thought.
