Yep, that's right! My LSV broke today.
Am I imagining things or did someone say you could buy a service kit for them? Phillips want £275 for the privilege Past Parts want £180
Must be a cheaper option!

Pastparts were offering a reconditioning service on here some time ago and they offered us a Forum discount. it was posted in the sales and wants section.

Spoke to them Friday. round about £200 after vat and carriage. Not sure it's worth putting that kinda money into it if I'm honest Rob.

Quick update - Spoke to a classic car parts dealer at a show recently, told me he had access to Lockheed new old stock and that they had some left. Said I should ring him in a month or two, see if he got them. Kinda think he was pulling my leg so by order of the bread knife, off to PastParts it goes!
I shall report back once it has returned!

Hi Alf. I did indeed mention the forum and he said that price was WITH a discount! Did they tell you how much we would get?
Regards, Rob.

Hi Rob, No they just said they would give us a discount if the Forum was mentioned. I would have though a minimum of 10% could be expected though. Suppose every little helps though. Take Care Alf

Hi all, quick update on the LSV saga.
Past Parts had my old unit quite some time so after calling them to find out what was going on, turns out the 1013 has a different LSV to other Cargo's. Apparently there's a piston in there that was corroded beyond repair and they don't have them OR re-manufacture them in house. Told me they had four to have made but no lead time on it.
Left it a couple of weeks and after a long chat with the chap about alternatives to the original, ended up with a new, old stock unit someone 'found' in their store room.
Total cost £275!
If I was carrying anything but horses, I probably wouldn't have bothered but it's done now. Bleeding the brakes Friday, be interesting to see the difference!

Anyone know what size pipe and union I need for the LSV please? Turns out the chap re-fitting it for me has gone AWOL with one of mine!
Regards, Rob.
