Hoping someone can help. I need a water pump or kit or even just a seal for my 380 cu slant 6 engine, but no one seems to have a listing for any parts, not even the local Ford dealer. If anyone knows of a source in Australia or anywhere really it would be a life saver, otherwise I'll have to modify the pump housing to take a different seal, then all the headaches that go along with that. Either that or modify the whole system and fit an electric pump. I'd much prefer to keep it as original as possible, I love this truck and I'd hate to start modifying it if I didn't have to.
Thanks in advance Terry

Thanks Alfie, I think this is the creature www.phillipscommercialsonline.co.uk/products/Ford-Cargo-Water-Pump-for-6-cynlinder-dover-engines-%28-0811-0813-0815-etc--%29.html certainly looks like it. I've made up a bearing using a universal water pump bearing with 3/4" shaft each end, turned one end down to 5/8"to fit the impeller and made up a water pump seal out of 2 different universal seals with a bit of mix and match, O rings to centre the seal on the shaft behind the impeller and another O ring on the metal collar of the seal that goes into the housing. A good serving of high temp sealant on each boggie seal and it seems to have worked.... but I might still lash out and buy a new pump as a back up. By the depth of the rust into the shaft at the seal end of the bearing this has been a problem for some time and quite likely the original pump. It's a great old truck, not fast but does what I ask and you can't ask more than that eh  Thanks again for your help T1 Terry

Brilliant news Terry, I love it when folk use their ingenuity and fabricate something to sort a problem, you are a man of my own heart lol, I hate recommending Philips as they are always far more expensive than any other supplier. I did also find this other supplier you could give them a try for a spare..... fordcargo.co.uk/?gclid=CIWU6YCj2M4CFUi6Gwod8nsCdAThanks for the update as so many people ask for information then never come back on here to give us the results, which is a shame as other members could be interested in what was the end result. Anyway take care and thanks again Alfie.

Well another update. The quick and nasty fix over 12 mths ago is still working like a charm so I'll stick with it. I reckon the previous owner will be spitting chips when I tell him how easy and cheap the fix was cause I reckon that was why he sold it. It would be nice if it cruised on the highway a bit quicker because it is long way between stops in many parts of this country. I was tempted to drive it across to Perth Western Australia from our new home in Mannum South Australia but the wife said it was too rough in the passenger seat.... I've started a separate thread about that. Turned out to be a wise move, over 200km between any sort of civilisation was the norm and then it was only a fuel station, I doubt I'd still be able to walk after 4,500km of that at 90km/h
