Hey guys ... Im kaino i picked up my first truck yesterday. Its an 82 0913. It has the 6.2ltr with a 6spd. The previous owners begged us not to drive it home.. i cant understand why.. Apart from a little rust in the rocker panel and a bit more in the scuttle panel and abit more everywhere else there where no issuses. (apart from no rear mud guards and muffler) it drove next to perfect.. started straight away after being parked 2 years ... We drove it home on a permit. The water pump leaked the whole way .. When i got home i attempted to tip the cab and failed.. after 3 mins of thinking i found the tool and the hole.. "poped it" of the first catch but i cant seem to get it any further.. the hooks are resting on the loops (guess ill need some wd40 in there) I have a plate on the drivers step that lables the truck as a "truck cargo medium mc4" does anyone have a translation for this. also does anyone have a link to rust replacement panels.. i found a shop in uk. but i was hoping for something closer.. Ill try to upload some pics . Thanks for your time .. Kaino.. ?

Hi and welcome kaino,
We look forward to seeing pics of your 0913..these old Cargo's are pretty much bulletproof ...rust is the only real killer lol. to tilt the cab its a good idea to open both front doors fully then pull the lever as far as you can and using your shoulder under the wing to lift it up ..it should lift easily with the doors open...one word of warning make sure you don't have any tools etc behind the seats or you may find they escape through the windscreen when the cab is tilted.
With reference to the MC4 Label I "think" this denotes a Military Cargo 4 Ton. but I am not 100% on that so don't take it as gospel.
Take Care
Alf

Bumping this old thread in case kaino gets a notification of the reply. I have members of my Mk1 and Mk2 Transit forum in OZ. Maybe they might help with parts?

I had a problem tilting my cab until I re-read the workshop manual. You have to push the black knob fully in first, then pull out the orange bit above it using the tool. I tried it the other way round and it doesn't work, just pops up an inch. Had to get in and bump the cab back down then try again. The black lever disengages a hook, if you pull the orange out first the hook is held tight by the spring pressure and will not disengage. Hope this helps.
