Sorry I posted this in the wrong section before. My turn to ask for favours, has anyone got a gear linkage rod(from the gearstick to the gearbox) complete with a decent balljoint?, I urgently need one so if you've got one let me know how much you want for it or I could swop other Cargo bits. email alf_beard@hotmail.com Cheers Alf Phillips Commercials in Nuneaton will most probably have one. I know he has a lot of Cargo's (7.5's) stockpiled for spares these days.

Hi thanks for that I did enquire at Philips but they want £150 for it . I have used them before and they are a pretty good company but £150 for a metre of 1" pipe and a balljoint is a bit worrying. Alf Good God, yes indeed, I agree Alf! I suppose as time marches on prices will only go higher unfortunately. He just laughs at me if ever I ask for a part exclusive to a tractor unit. Top and bottom rad hoses on mine were an exclusive Ford part (not Cummins) and are probably the singular rarest Cargo part around. He cracked up when I asked if he had a pair. Mine are good, but I wanted a spair pair just in case. Still looking! Similarly, recently took me ages to get a range change cable remanufactured, though not a bad price (£60)

Sorry the club could not help. In future, you could always try Roger Hastings (preserved blue 4x2 tractor). He has Cargo's stockpiled, and I am sure he would help if he can.

I was hoping to bump into Roger at the Retro Show in September. Didn't happen unfortunately. That's a cracker of a unit he has; is he a member of the site here Andy???

I think he joined, but has very limited internet access. You could give him a bell on 07831231894 (say you know me) and he will have a good long chat with you about what he has. If you can ever make a trip to Norwich, I could arrage a visit to his yard. Here it is in Google Earth: maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=norwich&hl=en&ll=52.675408,1.376333&spn=0.000779,0.001714&hnear=Norwich,+Norfolk,+United+Kingdom&gl=uk&sqi=2&t=h&z=19&vpsrc=6 Here is is in Google StreetView: maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=norwich&hl=en&ll=52.675406,1.375779&spn=0.000003,0.001714&hnear=Norwich,+Norfolk,+United+Kingdom&gl=uk&sqi=2&t=h&z=19&vpsrc=6&layer=c&cbll=52.675406,1.375779&panoid=Bstbeyd2FXwmyb2kScM4Yw&cbp=12,76.65,,0,2.68 Cheers Andy

Hi Andy, Thanks for that , there was a local scrap yard 4mls from here and he had about 5 cargo,s in but by the time I found out about it he had scrapped them , he sold me a pair of good doors and a pair of steps etc in very good nick, I dont actually need these bits so they are up for grabs if anyone is stuck. I will keep Roger in mind for future reference. Kind Regards Alfie
