I haven't collected her yet, but am doing so this week sometime. Here's a couple of pics from the seller's website: I don't think I have ever seen a 3828 daycab tractor in the flesh. Most were 3224's or lighter weight units. The cab needs work, but I'm not going down the full on restoration route. She'll get plated up and eventually resprayed. She has a provable 132000kms on her and one previous owner. The interior is very good for the age and tallies with the mileage etc. The Cummins is as sweet as a nut ;D ;D More pics to follow when I get her home!!

I saw this one too, what a beast! Yes I agree, haven't seen many of those daycabs! Find yourself some of those wheeltrims now!

Has it got the classic black and red stripy seats, or the grey ones?

Has it got the classic black and red stripy seats, or the grey ones? I must confess I was never a fan of the 'XR3' seats, and preffered the later Iveco-Ford trim, which mine has. The grey trimmed seats appeared on lorries sometime in the very late D-Reg era as I recall (sometime after Ford had joined forces with Iveco). I don't think I have seen a D-reg Cargo with grey trim though!?! The Driver's seat on mine is the Bostrom airsprung type, which was all important on the heavyweights! The XR3 seats were fixed steel frame, used to break regularly, bloody uncomfortable and bad for the back as I remember.

Haha yes...were they trying to bring a "sporty" image to the Cargo?!
When do you pick her up?

Well Rod Chapman back in the day certainly brought a 'sporty image' to the Cargo on the race circuit; but as far as Ford goes I think it was just easy for them to use their existing trim supplier to do the Cargo along with the then sporty Escort. I pick her up tommorow (Tuesday afternoon!) and am driving her back! ;D

Well I go in our cargo with my dad and we have been doing it up the past year but there wasnt a spot of rust on it exept the odd surface rust at the bottom of the right hand side door but apart from that it is great under the drivers seat in the cab was a wee bit rusty but we got that welded up and put stronger wings on (welding under the cab while welder was on) the wings we put on are bigger so makes the truck look that wee bit bigger hehe. I will upload some pictures when I can be bothered haha.
