Hello, first post here since i cant seem to find an answer anywhere els. My dad has a 89" cargo wich he has had for about 10 years, recently he had problems with the clutch engaging even tough the pedal was to the floor, so at red lights or similar eventually after 5-10sec it would start to roll of as if you were releasing the pedal.
He travels alot so i said i would fix it, i couldnt find any leaks and tought there was an internal in the slave sylinder where air would Get in, i sourced a new one and changed it.
Now the problem i have is, when i removed the oil Line for the old slave sylinder some red fluid came out, wich fluid is this? Everywhere i search it tells me it takes normal brake fluid but it looked like atf or gearbox oil.. Anyone have a clue? Thanks in advanced!

The correct fluid is Brake Fluid , I think someone has probably used ATF which over time would most likely swell the seals, flush it through with Brake Fluid until clear. It’s also possible someone has put in some of that stop leak stuff, which is red but should only be used in auto boxes and power steering pumps.
Good luck
Alfie
