Back to basics. Have you checked the earth from the battery? Tried hitting the starter with a big stick or pipe? It could be a duff starter. I've had this on a transit and it was the starter solenoid. Hitting it is a temporary fix. We replaced the starter (on the same batteries) and it was fine.

Hi Ford transit and robyorks yes been back to basics replaced Earth lead and a few others as they are old stiff and probably not at there best tried starter and solinoid and fuel cut off lever to make sure its not sticking off phoned Iveco dealer near Cardiff and thought there may be a red fuel cut off switch on the fuel pump and put anouther couple of gallons of deisel in it put volt meter on and everything seems as it should be process of elimination tried bypassing ignition still no difference but something seems to be draining battery kept looking and found a rubber broken which stops the wires touching metal replaced hmmm nothings has changed then while trying to start her saw sparks ok lets investigate hmm anouther solinoid put the screwdriver there and shes doing her best to start add some easystart and yeah shes alive the solinoid is on passengers side near the chassis about a foot behind the wheel think part of the problem was the fuel had started to back drain but the solinoid is defenately the problem thanks both of you for your help and hope this may help someone else with there cargo
