Hi,my last job on restoring the cargo has been the breaks,i've had the front 2 drums off and the cylinders are fine, but I just can't get the back drums off,the shoes are pushed out, handbreak disengaged,i can just about with force, turn the drum, tmr,i'll remove the break line which might help turn the rear star adjuster, but that seems stuck too,it is stressfull would a break drum remover do it,if I fabricate a disk for it to push against,as if the axle is removed it would the need something to press up to,what about undoing both cylinders, would that help loosen things up? Cheers

There is my homemade tools.

I never got it why that drum have to be behind the axle hub. So first you have to loose those 8 nuts and pull off the drive shaft. Then you have to get off that shaft seal. Then have to loose these massive nuts and get that bearing off. Then you can pull that hub and drum module off from the rear axle. That makes no sense for me. :DD

Hello there, I never got to thank you for the photo's,they were brilliant thankyou!,just putting everything back together now,i'm a little bit unsure about the front drums, whichever way i put the 2 springs around between the shoes, they always seem to press a little against the self adjusting cylinders, have you got any photo's of your front wheels you could send me? much thanks

I searched all my old pictures but i did not find the pictures from front. Front brakes was little bit trickier because there was those self adjusting cylinders. Mine cylinders got little bit rusty inside so I needed pull cylinders apart and renovated. Funniest thing is that I never taken picture. Very sorry about that I can´t help you.

Hi,last question!,This all comes about because on each rear-side,when i originally removed the drum,a small spring fell out each side, looking at your photo's and a diagram for a 811 i found, the secondary shoe seems to have a additional spring attached between the secondary shoe to the parking cam at the top and to the backplate at the bottom,on mine however, the additional top spring wasn't there, maybe removed when the rear adjustment mechanism was mostly removed, photo included, and at the bottom the spring was hanging out or fell out, photo included of spring "it's originally yellow in colour" and where i think it came from. In the photo's you sent me however, you can see a very feeble looking spring behind the bottom adjuster,is that the one hooking up to the back plate?,which could be where mine came from?,it's hard to see whether the spring is extended from torque or whether it's just weak looking. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
