well she passed eventually. A little fettling before hand included a new rear disc / pads and slider pins freed off. BUT.. at the centre she got an immediate prohibition issued as she developed incontinence on the brake test. Apparently the reading was ok initially then the tank pressure dropped just at the end of the brake test and a large pool of brake fluid appeared on the nearside front. Sorted now; all in she's cost me a few quid again but still cheaper than a new lorry or horse box.
Realistically its just wear and tear, only consolation is that they say she's got the best cab they have seen in years. She may be 30 years old but she cost less to get through her test than by 14 yr old car did !
cheers
Steve

Well done mate. It's always good to hear about a Cargo getting another year on the road. Currently mine's got a Mk1 twin wheel chassis cab sat on her. The Mk1 was collected today for a Mk1 and Mk2 Transit Forum member.

Cheers!
I must post some pictures of her up once I figure out how to.
need to continue to work my way through list of jobs including renewing some of the water pipes and all the jubilee clips, rocker cover gasket, paint the wheels, smarten up the rear end, and clean and paint the floor rails underneath. It never ends but its good fun!

Well done Steve, your lucky you know your way around them! I haven't had mine all that long and it's my first so learning as I go. Just had mine tested and had to have a track rod end changed. I have one tyre to change on advisory but managed to pick two up from a scrappers for next to nowt so my plan is to have the tyres taken off the rims so I can shotblast them and paint them up before they go back on. I'd rather do that than buy those horrible trims for them!
Rob.

Robyorks what did you do about the 'load' for the test? Our beavertail went to an ATF not DVSA (VOSA) so had to be loaded. Luckily we had a LWB Mk2 handy that did the job! It all made sense as to why the test centre asked twice if I booking in a horse box. Ours had a rack rod end too! There are different sizes you know. Now they tell me.

Cheers for the comments guys. Rob I suspect we know as much as each other; I fettle a little and let the mechanic we use do the big stuff.
Now must post some pics...

I don't know Fred, I didn't take it. I left it with the mechanic and he prepped it and drove it in for the test. I am dropping another in to him tomorrow for a friend so must remember to ask!

The site you used only gives direct links. You then need to put [ img] in front of the direct URL and [/img] at the end, without spaces. Take out the first space after [ and before img too. That will show the pic in your post. Very nice BTW!
