Yes it did get bad. I work in the prop side as a standby prop. Looking after the action props that the artist use. I love my cargo and an taking it off to france this year. I just bought a lower valance to go on the bottom of the bumper. Looking forward to fitting this. A question though. It seems to rev very high even at 55 i think it would hit limiter at 65. It has a 5 speed box and 1/3.73 diff. Is this normal. Oh tyres are 215. Thanks

Hi e625akn, Welcome to our little Forum Sir, we also all love our Cargo's in answer to your question regarding the revs/speed 65mph tops is quite normal on a box van, mainly because of wind resistance etc, you could raise the gearing but it would probably struggle in headwinds etc, I have an 0813 Beavertail which will hit 70mph but that's only because its shape is pretty slippery.
Kind Regards
Alfie

Many thanks Hi Again, Yes the Dover and Dorset 6 cyl Diesels are pretty much bomb proof ..I have covered 400mls in one day fully loaded with my foot to the floor most of the time without so much as a hiccup the only thing to watch is that the thermostats and cooling system are in good condition as overheating these engines can destroy them, check all the hoses and always keep your eye on the temperature gauge and it'll go forever and a day. also don't worry if the oil pressure is dropping when hot as these gauges are pretty inaccurate. Kind Regards Alfie

Great newsx Today i bought a rear anti roll bar and a front lower valance. Yipee You did well getting a front spoiler (or valance) for it - where'd you find that if you don't mind me asking!?! Even the 7.5 ton ones are very hard to find nowdays, though I've seen a few on horseboxes that are being broken on Ebay.

Thanks for the info alfi. My temp guage doesnt work at the mo but i will fix it. It not being a tipper cab its really loud inside so i will invest in some soundproofing. Stuart. The is a guy in trowbridge wiltshire who deals with cargo parts. I just came in and bought it off the shelf. He has steps and all sorts. He has supplied me with all the bits i need so far. Just google cargo spares trowbridge.
All the best Rich
