He Urena, yes I am a bit of an anorak when it comes to Vintage cars its been my hobby since I was about 12, it certainly is a beauty, it must have been modified at some point coz they used to use what they called an autovac instead of a fuel pump, but not many people understand Autovacs and they were pretty temprimental so most owners fitted electric pumps instead.
nice to see you are keeping that lovely ole Cargo working, well done.

I agree Clive, but what can we do!?! The Mods have notably taken a back seat lately for some reason. There was interest in purchasing a 6x2 tractor unit, which I can whole heartedly agree with; though I do feel regular input/updates/intent from the Mods is important, as it's them who set the Forum up and attracted the likes of 'us'! They have done a grand job; but I really wish they would show their faces with a little more consistency. Whatever happened to the planned Cargo/members meet!?! I think perhaps it was a bad idea for me to offer my unit as a 'club vehicle'. The Mods, should indeed purchase their own and realise their initial intentions as I see it. Sure we'll, all meet up sometime and have good bash though! Regards, Stuart.

Keep on trucking eh ;D Alf not all of us are lads for me i have not posted here much because there was not much posting going on. due to the fact i have been doing a total re-build of an F plate 0813, as failure to do so would of ment the truck falling apart, and me being homeless i totally forgot about this forum until i received a message about a meet (too far for me though ) i have spent ages trawling the net for suppliers and have a few (have posted the ones i remember). as a suggestion for promotion of the site; maybe promoting it on horsebox sites (a lot of horsebox owners spend money on these things and want to keep them going) the historic commercial vehicles club www.hcvs.co.uk/new age taveller forums (i can think of 5 more of us hippies running around in 811/813's) commercial trucker forums etc. i am more than happy to chip in and promote the site a bit, i can offer information too (all 3 volumes of the dealer workshop manuals and some wiring diagrams from a couple of models). bear in mind though i have a lot on at the moment so might not get back quickly with info. the only reason i have not so far is because it's not my site to interfere and i simply forgot about it as not much was going on. my proposal to the site owner is this. have a re-brand, message all members telling them there is a push to get the site busy and as such you are inviting nominations and applications for a couple of mods to help run and promote the site. just a thought and sorry if i have said anything out of turn or offended the site owner. not my intention, just feel the site could be more and i am saying i'm prepared to help where i can

Live on a narrowboat, down here in Northants. Have met a few of you people when I lived in the Glastonbury area for a bit (not on the boat of course). I remember a couple of people I met when doing TV and Film Facilities who lived in a Cargo (converted horsebox) - they were doing filmset security and location work down in the South West. Good luck with your rebuild anyway!

thanks, it's had some quite major faults due to a previous owner, and the shoddy clown who built the rear box (have put £300 of steel into it just to rectify the poor build alone). it is nearly done now, just working on the mot items from last years advisories and some cosmetics. was just thinking also there are a few parts suppliers out there, could use them to promote the site, it's in their interests. more on the road = more customers

Hi Fraggle, And welcome aboard, brilliant to see a member of the fairer sex joining us lot, I have one or 2 Cargo bits that I have built up over the years so if you do need anything for your truck or just advice just shout....and I will make sure the parts are as cheap as I can make them.
Kind Regards

thanks alf at the moment i think i am on top of it all, having said that i have the dreaded vosa in july. it should be fine as i have spent a lot of time working on victoria over the last year and have addressed all the advisories from last years one. at some point i will need a new drivers door (minimal frilling on the lower corner, but i am fussy). one small thing i would like to get though is a n/s wind deflector, i know its not an important part but it is one of those things that irritates me in it's missing-ness the only thing i hope will not be an issue is the rear lights (led burgers) i ran out of money to buy all the ones i wanted so have two rear/stop/indicators but due to the space and the distance between them and the fog light i have not connected the brake on the one nearest the fog, my understanding of this is it is acceptable under construction and use re: lighting but am not fully confident on this. sorry for thread jacking btw op was not intended

Hi Fraggle, I have a spare door but after having a good look at it..it has a bit of tinworm around the bottom edge as well, so if you are as fussy as me then you would'nt want it, as for the wind deflector I hav'nt got any of those but will ask my mate who had a few bits. I am also not sure about the lights, its a grey area and these VOSA guys can be bloody awkward when they want to be, and if they do fail it then it'll cost you £40 re-test fee for the privilege I would be inclinded to wire it up to be honest. Kind Regards Alf

thing is if i wire it up i know for a fact it would be a fail. i might if i have time put a relay in that shuts off the inner brake light when the fog is on as i know that is a legal work round for the light hero's out there thing is i have so much else to do i would rather backburner that for now, as i really should replace the thermostats so i can get up to temp, but to do that i need to replace the header tank and some of the older hoses as the temp/pressure increase would cause multiple fountains lol. thanks for looking out for a deflector
