Hi Keith, Yes it does, sorry I thought you had just hardwired the solenoid valve...... good job mate but you really need to wire it to an ignition live rather than a permanent live. if you locate the reversing light switch on the drivers side tail of the gearbox, one side of this switch is an ignition switched live, just take a cable from this to where you put your permanent live that would save running cables from the cab Alfie. Hi and sorry for digging up the old thread, but i finally solved my Cargos´ poor cold starting issues. Solenoid gets it power from starter relay. And it only gets power when starter is engaged. This is how my truck is wired, and thats how it shows on wiring diagrams. My problem was that the relay output voltage was too low and 10 Volts did not engage the solenoid.

Nice one Keith,
This isn't how mine was wired but its end result is the same.

Forgot to mention the battery is been drained by something but im not sure what so for now ive disconnected it and plan to fit an isolator in the near future. The drain is probably your tacho. They are always on unless you have a battery isolator fitted. if you drove it every day it probably would be fine but if like me it goes out once a week an isolator is a must to preserve the battery. I appreciate this is years old but might help someone else.
